In a lavish celebration of their engagement, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez recently hosted a private yet star-studded party aboard their astounding $500 million superyacht. The event, which took place on August 2 in Positano, Italy, attracted a slew of prominent names from the worlds of business, entertainment, and tech.
Among the notable attendees were the likes of Bill Gates, known for his Microsoft empire, who graced the party with his girlfriend Paula Hurd. Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd, renowned fashion designer Sarah Staudinger, and entertainment mogul Kris Jenner were also spotted at the gathering, as revealed through photos shared on Sanchez’s Instagram.
The event further saw the presence of Wendi Murdoch, ex-wife of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, and Hollywood A-listers like Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. The guest list also included Rania Al Abdullah, the Queen of Jordan, and super agent Ari Emanuel, who arrived with his wife Staudinger.
Even Leonardo DiCaprio, who had an amusing Twitter exchange with Bezos in the past, made an appearance, indicating their amicable relationship. After a playful threat from Bezos in response to a video showing DiCaprio conversing closely with Sanchez, the actor jokingly tweeted, “Come here, I want to show you something,” and tagged Bezos. This light-hearted interaction seemingly translated into a harmonious party presence.
The couple’s engagement has been a buzz since May, with Sanchez, founder of Black Ops Aviation, known for aerial film production, and a former news anchor for Good Day LA, making headlines. The two have been spotted spending quality time aboard their luxurious superyacht, which embarked on its maiden voyage in February. Amid the opulent celebration, Bezos and Sanchez have been cherishing their love story, which began four years ago.
